Advertised Job Summary :
We seek applications for the Director of the Physical Activities Program (Clinical Instructor) in the Department of Educational & Developmental Science within the College of Education. The Director of the Physical Activities Program will provide leadership and oversight for all undergraduate physical activity courses. This role ensures high-quality instruction, effective scheduling, time-management skills, and seamless collaboration with internal and external partners. The Director is responsible for program administration, curriculum development and support, faculty coordination, instructor support, and resource management to promote student well-being. This is a 12-month professional track faculty appointment anticipated to begin January 2026.
Key job responsibilities will include :
(1) Schedule physical activity classes each semester to meet program needs and student demand.(2) Recruit, identify, and assign adjunct instructors, ensuring full coverage of all courses.(3) Monitor and evaluate quality of instruction, providing feedback and support to instructors.(4) Communicate effectively with instructors and students(5) Facilitate and maintain off-campus agreements with host sites for activity courses.(6) Provide guidance on curriculum development, syllabus construction, and course materials.(7) Oversee inventory, ordering, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.(8) Coordinate CPR training and certification for all adjunct instructors.(9) Update, organize, and maintain the Blackboard repository for physical activity courses.(10) Collaborate with Physical Education faculty and broader departmental colleagues on program development and integration.(11) Work with Campus Recreation and Wellness to coordinate physical space allocation for courses.(12) Teach a reduced load of undergraduate physical activity courses(13) Promote physical activity courses to the larger university community
