Overview
Senior Electrical Engineer - Substation Design. This role is with Black & Veatch, an employee-owned company that values its people and aims to provide innovative, sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Staff position. Hybrid work arrangement with three in-office days and two flex / remote days per week. Candidates located or willing to relocate to any Black & Veatch U.S. Regional Office may be considered.

Responsibilities
- Function as a technical specialist or lead substation design engineer for distribution, sub-transmission and transmission level voltage classes.
- Develop electrical design deliverables, including protection and control design (protective relays) and / or physical design.
- Participate in management, project scheduling, and work / resource planning meetings.
- Interface directly with clients, vendors and subcontractors.
- QA / QC projects and mentor junior engineers.

Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited program.Minimum of 8 years related work experience.Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements which may include background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, as applicable by law and regulations.Preferred Qualifications
Substation Design Experience - P&C and / or Physical.Professional Engineer (PE) License or in pursuit of PE license.QA / QC and Substation (HV) project lead experience.Strong written communications and leadership capabilities (planning, delegation, conflict management, etc.).Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and standards related to assigned discipline.Key Responsibilities (Engineering Standards, Quality, Production, etc.)
Provide guidance on department design guides, standards, and applicable engineering codes.Assist in developing, maintaining and updating engineering standards.Provide technical guidance to project teams.Additional Information
