Job Requirements

Education Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent
Certifications Requirements : AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS
Experience Requirements : 2+ years of solid ICU Stepdown experience, at least 1 travel contract, or 5+ years of ICU Stepdown experience without travel
Other Requirements : Current active compact license, recent EPIC charting experience, strong assessment and critical thinking skills, Tele / 12-lead EKG interpretation skills, ability to initiate and titrate IV drips, and neuro assessment skills

Job Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive ICU stepdown nursing care for post-procedure cardiac, neuro, and sepsis patients, ensuring safety and comfort.

Interpret and respond to 12-lead EKGs, initiate and titrate IV drips, and monitor patient vital signs continuously.

Assess neuro status using NIHSS and perform critical thinking assessments to identify and manage neurological emergencies.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans and communicate patient progress effectively.

Maintain accurate documentation within EPIC, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and state regulations.
