Essential Skills

5+ years of experience in mechanical design using SolidWorks 3D.

Experience working on the floor with manufacturing to support troubleshooting.

Proficiency in mechanical design and 3D solid modeling.

Job Description

We are seeking a Design Engineer responsible for creating detailed 3D models and assembly drawings using SolidWorks. The focus of this role is on the design and development of complete chassis systems, chassis components, chassis cabs, and various other mechanical parts. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in mechanical design and be highly proficient in 3D solid modeling. This position involves collaboration with the shop floor to verify fit and function, ensuring accurate translation of designs into physical components. Timeliness and accuracy of designs are critical to meet project deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Engineering Degree.

Experience creating Bill of Materials (BOM).

Experience with air and hydraulic schematics.

Experience in heavy truck or transportation chassis design.

Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) certification.

Work Environment

The role is based in the engineering building, primarily at a cubicle, with some interaction on the shop floor to ensure design accuracy and troubleshoot issues. The team comprises 10 engineers, including 8 Design Engineers and 2 Electrical Engineers, working alongside functional leads and mentors. The work schedule consists of four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, from 6 am to 4 pm. The position includes 6 holidays and 1 week of paid time off.

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $46.00 / hr.
