Public Health Officer

Part-Time (~10-15 hrs / month)
Supervisory Role : May provide guidance to clinical staff on medical protocols and standing orders.
This position meets the requirements of ORS 431.418 (2) for a local health department to have a physician licensed under ORS Chapter 677 act as a health officer responsible for the medical and paramedical aspects of public health programs.
The Public Health Officer works under the general direction of the Local Public Health Administrator.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed under ORS Chapter 677 and maintains a license to practice medicine in the State of Oregon for the duration of the contract.

Key Responsibilities / Duties :
Develop and sign standing orders, communicable disease protocols, and clinical guidance
Serve as Laboratory Director and Pharmacy Director
Support pandemic response, disease outbreak containment
Support TB management (active / latent)
May present to Board of County Commissioners
Conference of Local Health Officials (CLHO) - Health Officers' Caucus (monthly)
