GENERAL STATEMENT OFDUTIES :

The Manager of Therapy supports the therapy department by managingdaily operations, staffing, and compliance with organizational and regulatorystandards. This role provides guidance to staff (approximately 5 directreports), oversees performance and training, and collaborates with leadershipto ensure quality care and smooth workflow. In addition, the position deliversdirect patient care, documents progress, and educates patients and families topromote successful rehabilitation outcomes.

Essential Duties :

  • Serves as a liaison between therapy staff, management, and leadership to promote optimal operations, workflow, and employee satisfaction. Provides timely guidance, support, coaching, and conflict resolution to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Manages, edits, and approves timecards. Completes annual performance reviews and appraisals, setting goals that promote professional and personal growth.
  • Assists with interviewing candidates, onboarding, and training new staff to ensure competency and integration into the department.
  • Manages scheduling coverage, utilizing PRN staff to ensure adequate outpatient and inpatient therapy staffing.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, HIPAA, infection prevention, accreditation standards, governmental regulations, and professional standards of care.
  • Leads QA auditing, data gathering, and quarterly reporting. Completes RL6 incident follow-ups, collaborating with risk management and safety to meet requirements.
  • Collaborates with medical records, coding / billing, and revenue cycle teams to correct errors in documentation and billing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Participates in departmental staff meetings and huddles to disseminate company information. Communicates with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and families regarding patient status, rehabilitation progress, and care needs.
  • Provides direct patient care in outpatient therapy, including evaluation, treatment, and support based on physician protocols for operative and non-operative management.
  • Documents treatment procedures, patient status, and progress in the EMR. Educates patients and families on rehabilitation goals, functional status, and strategies for independence in daily living.

Requirements :

  • Master's degree (M.A. / M.S.) or equivalent in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy
  • Indiana Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy license required
  • 4-6 years of direct experience in healthcare leadership required; 6-8 years preferred
  • BLS certification required
