CLASSIFICATION TITLE : Clinician II / III, Region 1 REACH (FULL TIME)

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES :

This is a FLSA non-exempt position. The incumbent serves as the Region 1 Regional Education Assessment Crisis Services Habilitation (REACH) Clinician II / III for adults and children with developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs in addition to those presenting with challenging behaviors (DD / BH) residing in Developmental Services Region I of Virginia which covers the nine Community Services Boards (CSBs) within Region 1. The REACH Clinician is responsible for providing crisis assessment, intervention, stabilization, and referral assistance to mental health, intellectual disability, and substance use clients, both over the phone and face-to-face, in the office and in the community. Schedule is based on the needs of the program with some evening, overnight, and weekend work required. Occasional holiday work is required. The incumbent reports to Director Ill and performs duties by proceeding alone under standard practices, referring questionable situations to the supervisor. In carrying out duties, the incumbent is expected to act professionally and knowledgeably to ensure availability, response, and continuity in delivery of mental health services to all individuals located in the Region Ten catchment area. S / he will perform in accordance with professional ethics and established Region Ten policies.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Master's Degree in a human service field (special education, psychology, social work) licensed or licensed eligible required and four years applicable work experience in human services including at least one year of supervision. Valid Virginia Driver's License plus an acceptable driving record as issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles is required. The incumbent must be able to perform all essential duties.
