Summary :

Join our dedicated team as a Sterile Processing Technician! In this vital role, you will be responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, assembling, sterilizing, and distribution of reusable medical devices and supplies that are essential to patient care. Additionally, you will take charge of assembling and dispatching surgical case carts, ensuring that the right tools are available for our healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities :

  • Exhibit proficiency in the OneCHRISTUS Competencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Perform decontamination and cleaning of reusable equipment / instruments in compliance with departmental and OSHA standards.
  • Assemble, sterilize, store, and distribute medical devices and supplies efficiently and accurately.
  • Follow departmental and OSHA guidelines diligently while handling materials, adhering to standards set by AMI (Advancement of Medical Instrumentation).
  • Organize and dispatch surgical case carts as per computer-generated physician preference cards.
  • Conduct physical inventories of floor stock and SPD to ensure accuracy, collaborating with Material Management on supply usage and organization.
  • Utilize and understand inventory control systems and programs, including Meditech.
  • Communicate effectively with inter / intradepartmental associates, ensuring accurate message relaying.
  • Demonstrate the competence, responsibility, and attention that meet the needs of the diverse patient populations served by the department.
  • Adapt assessment and treatment methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient, considering their physical, psychosocial, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Commit to compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and standards from regulatory entities.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality and ensure no disclosure of confidential information outside the scope of prescribed duties.
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned to contribute to departmental efficiency.

Job Requirements : Education / Skills :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience :

  • 6 to 12 months of hands-on experience in all aspects of sterile processing preferred.
  • Prior sterile processing experience strongly preferred.
  • Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications :

  • Preferred : HSPA Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) or Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST).
  • Work Schedule : 3PM - 11PM
