Job Title : Senior Materials Engineer

Location : Mahwah, NJ

Compensation : $53.00 - $70.00 per hour

Type : Contract

Overview

Global Medical Device company seeking an experienced Engineer to join their team. The role involves evaluating materials for orthopedic implant applications, focusing on material, process, and test method development, material characterization, testing, and preparing protocols and technical reports within the Advanced Technology Department.

Responsibilities

Support material development and evaluation programs, conduct technical investigations in process development, material characterization, performance evaluation, and root-cause analysis under guidance from technical leads.
Coordinate with internal and external collaborators to execute program plans, participating in both theoretical / analytical and laboratory activities.
Generate technical memos, protocols, and reports detailed enough to support regulatory submissions.

Requirements

BSc in Materials Science / Engineering or related field; advanced degrees are a plus.

At least 3 years of R&D experience.

Experience with material characterization and testing.

Experience working with metallic and / or ceramic materials.

Preferred experience in material processing / manufacturing, surface / coating technologies, and orthopedic materials.

Familiarity with statistical analysis tools like Minitab and MS Excel.

Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, including technical report preparation for regulatory submissions, is desirable.
