PCU RN Job Details Location : Tucson, AZ 85745 (Arizona nursing jobs) Assignment Length : 13 weeks (travel nurse contract) Start Date : December 8, 2025 Shift : 12-hour days (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 30 PM) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,650 - $1,770 Weekend Requirement : Yes Float Requirement : Float within skillset as needed (NSO, ON, Telemetry) Unit : 21-bed Progressive Care Unit, 1 : 4 nurse-to-patient ratio Dress Code : Navy blue scrubs Registered Nurse Qualifications Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Arizona or compact state) Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or acute care RN experience BLS certification (AHA) required ACLS certification (AHA) preferred Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Ability to float to related nursing units as needed PCU RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, respiratory, and post-surgical conditions (CHF, Afib w / RVR, hypoxia, post-cardiac procedures) Monitor and manage patients requiring BiPAP / CPAP, vapotherm, stable airways / tracheostomies, A-lines, and post-surgical interventions Assist with special procedures : arterial sheath removal, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, thrombolytic administration Titrate vasoactive drips (Nicardipine, Nitroglycerin, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone) Operate common clinical equipment : IV pumps, wound vacs, chest tubes, PCA, and epidural pumps Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes Float to other nursing units within your skillset as required Discover rewarding travel nurse opportunities in Tucson, Arizona.
