Job description

CNC Milling Operator

Location : New Britain, CT

Pay Rate : $22–$27 per hour

Shift : 1st Shift

Employment Type : Temp-to-Perm

Position Summary :

The CNC Milling Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce precision components from metal and plastic materials. This position requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Set up and operate CNC milling machines to perform precise machining operations such as drilling, boring, cutting, and contouring.

Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements.

Load and align workpieces, secure fixtures, and select the correct tools and materials for each job.

Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy, quality, and efficiency.

Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Perform basic preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes.

Identify and resolve minor mechanical or programming issues.

Maintain accurate records of production, inspections, and equipment maintenance.

Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to optimize processes and minimize downtime.

Qualifications :

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in machining preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of CNC machining experience, with emphasis on milling operations.

Working knowledge of G-code and M-code programming fundamentals.

Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use precision measurement instruments.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

OSHA or similar safety certification preferred.

Pay Details : $22.00 to $27.00 per hour
