About the Role
Closing Attorneys are integral to the real estate industry, providing the legal expertise necessary to finalize property transactions, safeguard clients' interests, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role facilitates the transfer of property ownership and upholds the integrity of real estate transactions. Responsibilities include managing financial and contractual obligations, disbursing funds, and adhering to legal and regulatory requirements throughout the closing process. Effective communication and collaboration with clients and stakeholders are key aspects of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct table signings for residential and new construction transactions, ensuring seamless execution to meet legal and procedural requirements.
Draft and review contracts, deeds, leases, and other legal documents, guaranteeing accuracy and compliance with transaction terms and regulations.
Scrutinize loan documents and complete the closing package for accuracy, safeguarding the legal and financial interests of clients.
Provide comprehensive legal advice regarding transaction implications and resolve legal concerns arising during the transaction.
Apply knowledge of title insurance policies to shield clients from potential title defects and inform them of title-related risks and protections.
Evaluate property surveys, inspections, and other relevant documentation to inform legal decisions.
Conduct a meticulous review of the property's title to identify liens, encumbrances, or defects, ensuring a clear and marketable title for clients.
Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients, expand the client base, and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in the real estate industry.
Qualifications & Core Competencies
Active member of state bar in good standing; state-specific Notary Public; in-depth understanding of real estate laws, regulations, and local ordinances; knowledge of property rights, land use, zoning laws, environmental regulations; knowledge of title insurance policies; evaluate property surveys, inspections, and other documentation.
Effectively explain complex legal concepts to clients and keep them informed throughout the process.
Adhere to ethical standards, maintain client confidentiality, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Analyze complex situations and develop creative legal solutions; proficient in handling real estate transactions, including drafting and reviewing contracts, deeds, leases, and other legal documents.
Detail oriented, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, teamwork, prioritization, multitasking.
