Job Summary and Qualifications

The Wound Care RN leads in the assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients inthe Advanced Wound Care Center with the goal of preventing hospital-acquired infections and facilitate thehealing of patients who present admission wounds.Participates in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. Maintainscultural and diversity awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and all other customers.Promotes a supportive, team-work oriented environment. Fulfills departmental responsibilities with thelong-range plan, mission, vision and values of Horizon.

Must demonstrate the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the CompetencyValidation Checklist.

Meets mutually-agreed upon performance goals and objectives as listed on the PerformanceManagement Plan.

Must be flexible, work at a fast pace and manage several assignments at one time

Maintain positive interdisciplinary contract with other departments and health care professionals

Qualifications :

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred

Current licensure with the TN Board of Nursing.

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification required within 30 days of hire orpromotion.

Current CWON or CWOCN certification within 6 months of hire or promotion.
