Job Requirements Resume Required with Submission Local Only Within a 50-Minute Commute Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Phlebotomy Certification, CA CPT Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification 3 years of experience Preferred Qualifications Experience with Epic Systems Primary Duties and Responsibilities Maintain and understand the daily phlebotomy schedule in the EMR. Prepare for patient blood draw based on the physician's orders in the EMR. Understand where to locate and how to comply with test collection requirements for each laboratory facility performing testing, including appropriate kits and paperwork required for esoteric testing. Collect the appropriate tubes required for each test order. Collect specimens while following policy and procedure, maintaining the integrity of the process with strict adherence to patient identification policy. Effectively communicate with physicians and physician teams when order clarification is necessary. Adhere to hygiene and safety procedures. Inventory supplies for the phlebotomy area and restock as necessary. Perform a weekly expiration date check of all phlebotomy supplies. Rotate stored patient specimens from refrigerator to freezer storage and discard old samples. Assist the processing bench as needed for coverage during lunch and end-of-day duties.
