Site Leader / Director - Phoenix Protective Systems
BAE Systems, one of the world's largest defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, is hiring a Site Leader / Director that will also serve in the General Manager role in our Phoenix Protective Systems business (Phoenix, AZ site). The Director will provide leadership to the site in the development and accomplishment of business strategy and business plan goals. This leadership position provides motivation, coaching, and oversight of the cross-functional team - contracting, engineering, finance, integrated operations, human resources, program management, quality, safety / SHE, and security to ensure the achievement of business objectives, including all financial and delivery goals. The role will be responsible for creation and maintenance of an effective and efficient organization as the communication of responsibilities and objectives to employees. In pursuit of these objectives this individual will foster an organization that is responsive, lean, and agile; manage talent of the team to balance individual and business needs; work effectively and in concert with customers and suppliers; and ensure that the team continually improves to achieve customer and business needs today and tomorrow.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement business strategies to achieve revenue growth, profitability, and market share objectives.
- Make strategic decisions around operations, manufacturing, and / or new product development with focus on maintaining a competitive edge.
- Provide overall leadership and direction to the Phoenix Protective Systems business, including setting goals, priorities, and performance metrics.
- Manage and optimize business operations, including production, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, customer focus, and business performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to ensure business success.
- Identify and mitigate risks and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, including talent acquisition, development, and retention.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Champions site Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) efforts at Phoenix and learning across the larger business.
- Provides a safe and injury free work environment for all employees.
- Ensure business and product compliance with aviation related manufacturing and quality standards for both domestic and foreign products (ex FAA, ICAO and AS9100).
Required Education, Experience, & Skills :
US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience.Experience in Business Operations Management.Experience in Program / Project Management.Experience in Manufacturing / Production.Experience in Defense (DoD).Experience in People Management / Team Leadership.Experience in Strategic Planning and Execution.Ability to manage and monitor performance through EVMS, KPIs, or Metrics.Ability to manage financial performance and analysis.Ability to manage and mitigate risks.Ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.Ability to lead continuous improvement and innovation.Strong communication and presentation skills.Strong business and finance acumen.Strong customer and mission focus.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills :
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.Master's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.Certification in relevant fields (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, etc.).DAWIA level 2 Certifications in Program Management and / or Contracting.Experience with Phoenix Protective Systems or similar business operations.Experience in change management and organizational development.Experience with talent development and succession planning.Familiarity with Defense industry trends and technologies.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Pay Information :
Full-Time Salary Range : $150370 - $255630
