Job description

We are now hiring for Laser Machine Operators for a Manufacturing company in San Marcos, TX. These positions are starting ASAP! Please submit your resume to this posting and call our office at 830-629-2525.

Schedule / Pay :

  • 1st shift Monday-Friday 6 : 00 am-2 : 30 pm $17 / hr.
  • 3rd shift Sunday-Thursday 10 : 00pm-6 : 30am $19 / hr.

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining laser cutting machines to produce high-quality metal or plastic components according to engineering specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Setup and Operation

    • Prepare and operate laser cutting machines according to work instructions and specifications.

  • Calibrate and configure machines based on job requirements and material types.
  • Quality Assurance

    • Perform inspections on finished parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality compliance.

  • Document and report any deviations or defects.
  • Machine Maintenance

    • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of laser equipment to ensure efficiency and longevity.

  • Report any equipment malfunctions or service needs promptly.
  • Programming and Optimization

    • Input and optimize laser cutting programs using appropriate software.

  • Adjust machine settings based on material thickness, type, and cut quality requirements.
  • Blueprint and Job Order Interpretation

    • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders to determine machine setup and cutting paths.

  • Safety Compliance

    • Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents.
  • Troubleshooting

    • Monitor laser operations for irregularities or performance issues.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine errors or escalate complex issues to maintenance.

    • Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in operating laser cutting machines (e.g., CO2, fiber lasers) and related software.
  • Attention to Detail : Strong inspection skills and commitment to quality.
  • Problem-Solving : Ability to identify issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
  • Communication : Capable of working collaboratively with team members and clearly communicating job requirements and safety concerns.
  • Blueprint Reading : Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
