AP Accountant

Description

Fortem Technologies is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to join our Finance Team. This person will support the organization where they will assist other financial managers in coordinating accounts payable functions. The Accounts Payable Accountant will have primary responsibility for entering vendor invoices, matching them with purchase orders, and processing employee expense reports. They will also reconcile various general ledger accounts related to these operations and will interact occasionally with vendors. The position requires a solid understanding of financial accounting principles and journal entries in a manufacturing environment.

Accounts Payable Accountant Responsibilities :

• Primary duties will be to input, reconcile, and process accounts payable, along with matching up vendor purchase orders
• Work with outside vendors to reconcile account discrepancies, as needed
• Assist with the monthly close process and certain general ledger account reconciliations
• Process periodic employee expense reports
• Record and reconcile monthly credit card disbursements
• Work with Manufacturing to reconcile purchase order discrepancies
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial analyses
• Assist in the preparation of department-level budgets
• Identify and find solutions to internal discrepancies in financial records
• Help collect information in connection with annual financial audits with outside CPA firms
• Consistently comply with all policies and procedures
• Help identify and implement process improvements
