Maryruth's National Account Manager

The MaryRuth's National Account Manager is an experienced and results-driven individual who will manage and grow relationships with key customers in the US Southwest region. This role is hands-on and customer-focused, requiring strong task execution skills, frequent travel, and close collaboration with internal teams and brokers. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering excellent service and results. This role will report to the VP of Sales and is a full-time, exempt, salaried, remote position. It is preferred though not required that candidates reside in the Phoenix, AZ area. The compensation range for this role is $115,000 to $125,000 USD / year.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day business with key accounts in the Southwest region, focusing on Sprouts.
  • Drive sales growth by executing account plans, promotions, and new item launches.
  • Lead and manage broker relationships, ensuring alignment with company goals and strong execution at store level.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support customer programs, promotions, and brand initiatives.
  • Partner with supply chain to ensure on-time deliveries, resolve issues, and maintain strong customer service levels.
  • Handle forecasting for assigned accounts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company needs.
  • Support trade shows and customer events as a representative of the company.
  • Provide regular updates on account performance, challenges, and opportunities to the VP of Sales.
  • Domestic travel (50%) primarily within the US Southwest, will be required on an as needed basis, with notice provided to the employee.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Sales, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5 years of key account management or sales experience in consumer-packaged goods, ideally in the VMS space, required.
  • Proven track record of managing and growing customer relationships and business with Natural and Food retailers in the Southwest Region; direct experience calling on Sprouts is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in sales forecasting, trade planning, deduction management, and broker management is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Ability to travel about 50% of the time.
  • Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • This role involves sitting, standing, and moving for brief periods of time.
