Job summary :
The Payroll Specialist administers the activities relating to the company payroll and benefits processing including developing, implementing, and monitoring (e.g., performing internal audit and control procedures to ensure that all wages and taxes are accurate). The individual will be the companys subject matter expert for payroll and benefits administration.

Five (5) years experience in administering payroll and benefits processes required. Work experience should include knowledge of multi-State payroll practices, benefits administration language, and compliance or other related experienceAbility to pass a drug screening and State of Alaska background checkSkills required :
Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situationsStrong understanding of payroll, benefit and AP processes and procedures, including eligibility and enrollment rulesProficiency in QuickBooks, Excel and Microsoft Office Suite of productsBe a team player, demonstrate motivation and exercise discretion and dependabilityJob responsibilities :
Process payroll for hourly, and salaried employees; including reviewing and entering hours, entering tax and direct deposit information, administering regulatory requirements, e.g., garnishments, tax levies, and other adjustments to pay as necessaryImplement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with human resources team to improve payroll and Bamboo processesPrepare and file quarterly, and annual tax reports including W-2sWork with HR regarding employee benefits including enrollments and terminationsPlan and report results of audits to ensure all enrollments are accurate and that dependent information is correct for each employee. This includes being the main contact for annual payroll audits, workers compensation audits, and Simple IRA auditsPreform various Accounts Payable tasksReview billings for accuracy and approve for payment in a timely manner. Coordinate with HR to process disability payments from our third party
