Job Description

Overview

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive EH&S programs to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves conducting safety inspections, providing employee training, investigating incidents, and collaborating with departments to identify and mitigate risks. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong commitment to safety and environmental protection.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain EH&S policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with company objectives.

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.

Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels.

Manage environmental compliance programs, including permitting, reporting, and waste management.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of EH&S activities and incidents.

Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement safety improvements.

Stay informed of current EH&S regulations and industry best practices.

Respond to emergency situations as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in EH&S.

Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) preferred.
