Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Asst Non-Gaming Revenue Verification Manager, incumbent assists in overseeing the daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reconciliation and reporting of Hotel / F&B / Outlet Revenue and Accounts Receivable and the Non-Gaming Revenue Verification Team. Provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts; preparing journal entries and various accounting related tasks as assigned. This position performs all daily uploads and imports from our POS systems into the daily audit. Verifies the accurate posting of room revenue, package elements, statistics, taxes, and 3rd party billing, all F&B and Retail outlet sales, as well as overseeing the Accounts Receivable department. Ensures daily income is posted to the general ledger after balancing with daily activities. Balances all cash, credit card payments and room charges to sales. Prepares Daily Revenue Report to end users and owners.  Applies principles of accounting under the guidelines of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and in compliance with STOF regulations in all procedures.

Ability to work weekends and flexible schedules, including holidays, is required .

This is an Accounting position requiring a minimum of (3) years’ working in the Hotel Audit / F&B Hospitality industry (Night Audit / Income Audit ). Previous supervisory experience required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Exhibits conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.

Daily tasks required but not limited to :

• Assist in the supervising and training of the Non-Gaming staff.
• Oversee the reconciliation of all Hotel / Food and Beverage / Group Sales outlet revenues
• Oversee the response and tracking of chargebacks, balancing hotel ledgers, guest collections, journal entries, and external / internal guest assistance.
• Reconciliation / posting of Valet charges and other outlets as assigned.
• Verify accuracy of the recording of income, analyzing and reporting, inefficiencies or weaknesses in operational procedures with recommendations for improvement.
• Daily uploads of revenues by the income audit (F&B, Hotel, Banquets) and daily cash reports.
• Minimize losses from credit card charge backs, review daily and undertake prompt actions and implementing proper procedures.
• Ensure that Guest Ledger, City Ledger and Advance Deposits are balanced to the General Ledger daily.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
• Complete month-end accounting procedures as specified, including monthly reports and balance sheets.
• Provide additional support to the department as requested, with the expected ability and desire to gain progressive knowledge of on-property operations as well as other accounting departments within Revenue Verification.
• Shows initiative and problem solving for daily challenges.
• Assist the Revenue Verification Manager in developing and implementing new audit processes and procedures as operational changes occur.
• Ability to review and evaluate performance of team, allocate, coordinate and assign resources.
• Ensures compliance of all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls and STOF regulations.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
• Prioritize job functions in order to meet deadlines.

Works with the uniform chart of accounts using the guidelines of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Maintain knowledge of the STOF Gaming regulations as well as Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood internal controls, policies, and procedures.

Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.

Ensure prompt and discreet notification to management and / or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE    Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field and three (3) years’ experience in an Accounts Receivable role required or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Hotel / Food and Beverage accounting experience strongly preferred. Must be proficient in Excel.

LANGUAGE SKILLS    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental and organizational regulations.  Ability to write and develop reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to present information effectively, and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply certain concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY   Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
