Description :

Responsible for screening, evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning for patients in inpatient, Long Term Care, Alzheimer's, Home Health, and outpatient settings.

Collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team.

Provides occupational therapy treatments to patients according to treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.

Assists the Occupational Therapist when performing tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.

Observes, records, and reports to the Occupational Therapist the conditions, reactions, and responses related to assigned duties.

Maintains daily records of treatments and documents progress notes on patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.

Assists with admissions screenings.

Helps consult with family members, physicians, and other health care professionals, as appropriate.

Aids with the care of the Occupational Therapy Department equipment.

Assists with in-service programs and other meetings as assigned by the Occupational Therapist.

Accesses continuing education opportunities appropriate to discipline and responsibilities in order to maintain clinical currency.

Acts in compliance with regulatory and professional standards and guidelines.

Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

Attends meetings and in-service sessions, as directed.

Requires regular attendance and punctuality.

Performs other duties as assigned.

This position directly supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants.
