American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN SICU - Surgical Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Baltimore, Maryland.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring a compact RN license, BLS, ACLS, and strong Level II trauma experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Surgical ICU of a hospital specializing in trauma, transplant, vascular, GI, ortho-spine, and oncology patients
  • Rotating 12-hour shifts from 7A to 7P
  • Care for ICU and post-surgical patients, including trauma and complex surgical cases
  • Float to ICUs or IMCs with similar skill sets as needed
  • Work three out of six weekends per each six-week schedule
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR system
  • Provide care for critically ill surgical and trauma patients in a fast-paced ICU environment
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage complex patient populations
  • Team-oriented environment with support from skilled ICU staff
  • First-time travelers will not be considered
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate except where excluded by specific facility rules

    • Requirements

  • Active MD or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • At least 2 years of recent Surgical ICU experience in a Level II trauma center required
  • At least 2 previous travel assignments required
  • Experience with comparable facility size (500+ bed hospital) required
  • Experience with Epic EMR required
  • Preferred : Critical Care Certification and trauma course
