Job descriptionProvide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using Allied Universal protocols. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the utility location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and / or suspicious behavior. Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and / or security-related breaches. Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences according to Allied Universal and client protocols. Assist with access control measures by verifying credentials and / or monitoring visitor activity as required by site procedures. Work collaboratively with site personnel and Allied Universal team members to support a secure environment for employees, visitors, and contractors. Access control or badge experience is preferred. A guard card or license is preferred. Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks. Customer service experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

As an unarmed patrol professional with Allied Universal at a utilities location in Santa Barbara, CA, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents. Your presence and attention to detail will support a secure environment while providing outstanding customer service. You will interact with employees, visitors, and contractors, maintaining a visible presence and upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first in every interaction.
