Security Officer - Utility Patrol Shift

As an unarmed patrol professional with Allied Universal at a utilities location in Santa Barbara, CA, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents. Your presence and attention to detail will support a secure environment while providing outstanding customer service. You will interact with employees, visitors, and contractors, maintaining a visible presence and upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first in every interaction.

Pay Rate : $20.75 / Hour

What You'll Do :

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using Allied Universal protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the utility location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and / or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and / or security-related breaches.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Assist with access control measures by verifying credentials and / or monitoring visitor activity as required by site procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with site personnel and Allied Universal team members to support a secure environment for employees, visitors, and contractors.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
