Production Chemical Technician Contractor (2 : 00pm -10 : 30pm)

Atomic Machines is ushering in a new era of micromanufacturing with its Matter Compiler™ technology platform. This platform enables new classes of micromachines to be designed and built by providing manufacturing processes and a materials library that are inaccessible to semiconductor manufacturing methods. It unlocks MEMS manufacturing not only for device classes that could never be produced by semiconductor methods, but also for entirely new categories. Furthermore, this digital platform is fully programmable in the way 3D printing is digital-but whereas 3D printing produces parts of a single material using a single process, the Matter Compiler™ technology platform is a multi-process, multi-material system : bits and raw materials go in, and complete, functional micromachines come out. About the Role :

This role will begin on the day shift (8 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM) to support initial ramp-up and training. Within the first six months, it will transition to a permanent second shift , operating from 2 : 00 PM to 10 : 30 PM.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Chemical Technician to support both production and process development activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will execute high-precision chemical processes that are repetitive in nature. At the same time, you will follow established methods to ensure consistent and reliable production output. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in chemistry, rigorous attention to safety, and practical experience in production operations.

This position is based in Emeryville, CA and offered as a 1099 independent contractor role for an initial duration of 6 to 12 months . There may be potential for extension based on project needs and individual performance .

What You'll Do :

• Follow established protocols and work instructions to safely and accurately carry out chemical tests, and material treatments.
• Prepare chemical solutions and perform surface preparation using solvents, acids, bases and other reagents.
• Execute electrochemical processing steps such as plating, etching, and other wet chemistry techniques.
• Collect data; prepare reports and communicate results to team members.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness in the work area while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Safely handle, store and dispose of hazardous chemicals and waste streams in accordance with company regulatory requirements.
• Track and maintain inventory of chemicals and consumables at your station.
• Train new team members in safe chemical handling, equipment operation, and production procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives targeting process control, safety, efficiency and production quality.
