Vice President of Product Management, Hedging & Trading

The Vice President of Product Management, Hedging & Trading (H&T) plays a pivotal strategic role in shaping the future of mortgage hedging and trading technology. This leader sets the vision, development, and delivery of innovative products by orchestrating cross-functional collaboration and driving high-performance execution. The role oversees multiple product P&Ls, ensuring financial accountability and growth across diverse product lines. As a public-facing leader, the VP represents the organization at industry events, conferences, and client engagements, articulating product strategy and market insights. This leader manages a team of highly skilled subject matter experts (SMEs), fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Additionally, the VP ensures cross-departmental go-to-market alignment and readiness, enabling seamless product launches and sustained market success.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive product innovation and market competitiveness in the Hedging and Trading technology space that aligns with the company's vision and market demands.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify opportunities for new products and enhancements to existing products by identifying market trends and customer needs to drive innovation in the following areas mortgage pipeline hedging, loan sale execution, MBS securitization, mortgage profitability & risk metrics, MSR valuation and hedging and technology integrations.
  • Successfully work cross functionally to support product development and delivery : Work with Operations and other client facing teams to understand, evaluate and act on "Voice of the Customer" initiatives ensuring alignment with the product road map and product strategy.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to support and highlight product differentiators, ensuring that the true value of the product is being communicated.
  • Work with engineering to ensure cohesive product development and delivery that aligns with the product road map.
  • Act as an expert product marketer and evangelist, advocating for products and bringing them to market successfully.
  • Present business case for product initiatives and features to help leadership understand the 'why' of the product and how it fits into the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Present product enhancements & key features confidentially to external stakeholders at industry events.
  • Define, oversee and continually track metrics related to product performance (e.g. retention and churn rates, profits and revenue, trial-to-paid conversion rates, product engagement) to measure how well the organization is fulfilling customer needs and expectations.
  • Manage multiple product development projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
  • Ensure all products comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing team of product managers.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in product development positions specific to mortgage capital markets technology with at least 5 years' experience in a director level or above position.
  • Advanced knowledge in mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and secondary market trading.
  • Advanced experience with hedging instruments (TBAs, options, swaps).
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills (e.g. pull-through analytics, mark-to-market).
  • Proven track record of successful product launches and revenue growth in capital markets technology platforms.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Exempt

    The estimated base salary range for this role in the United States is $200,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year. For compliance with local legislation, and to provide greater transparency to applicants, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of the desired hiring location or whether the position is remote. The posted range is an estimate and reflects many factors which are subject to change. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above, based upon geographic location, candidate experience and expertise, and other relevant factors.

    This role will also be eligible for participation in a Company profit sharing bonus plan. Plan details will be provided to you upon hire.

    The Company provides a minimum of 10 days of vacation for new employees, sick time based on state requirements, 8 company-paid holidays and 2 personal holidays per year.
