Is responsible for learning and maintaining competency in advanced skills pertinent to practice as a flight paramedic and in conjunction with flight program protocols. Demonstrates ability to provide care and treatment to the air medical patient based upon department protocols and industry standards. The paramedic is responsible for providing patient care in an elevated risk environment (helicopters) and collaborating to reduce risk and promote safe practices. This position functions collaboratively with aviation staff (pilots and mechanics) and the Cox Air Care Medical Director (physician). Job Requirements Education Required : Graduate of an approved paramedic program Preferred : CCEMT-P certified Experience Required : Minimum of 3 years Advanced Life Support (ALS) experience Preferred : Previous flight paramedic experience Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates effective leadership abilities Exhibits valuable time management skills Strong critical thinking / problem solving skills Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment Licensure / Certification / Registration Required : Current Missouri EMT-P licensure BLS, ACLS, and PALS certified within 90 days of hire
