As a Credit Review Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting and supervising reviews of the corporation’s various lending portfolios, processes, and systems. The Credit Review Analyst will prepare and deliver written and oral reports to senior management regarding conclusions developed from such reviews.
This position will be Flexible : Work both on-site and remote with schedule agreed upon by manager. Will be on-site when business needs arise and for “moments that matter.” This position can be at a level I, II or Senior – depending upon experience.
Essential Functions
Develop and implement a strategy to sample and review a portfolio of loans, or a credit system or process.
Analyze and evaluate increasingly more complex commercial and / or retail credits or credit processes and systems to assess the accuracy of risk ratings, and the bank’s adherence to lending policies, bank standards and relevant laws and regulations
Responsible for conducting and supervising reviews of the corporation’s various lending portfolios, processes, and systems
Prepare and deliver written and oral reports to senior management regarding conclusions developed from such reviews
Identify existing or emerging risks and issues in credit portfolio segments and provide feedback to the Examiner-In-Charge (EIC), the Credit Review Manager, the Director of Credit Review and bank management regarding these risks and issues
When serving as EIC, report findings and conclusions to the management of the portfolio segment reviewed, and compile management’s response to the review into the final report
Report findings and conclusions from completed reviews in standardized, concise, organized reports, distribute these to senior bank management, and organize Exit Meetings to review these reports with lending line management and the bank’s Credit Administration team
Build relationships with business unit managers to facilitate the understanding of their markets or divisions to be in a better position to offer solutions to identified issues
Ability to work independently and remain task-focused
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills & Abilities Required
Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Basic knowledge of commercial and retail lending documentation and regulations
Strong understanding of credit systems and processes, credit structure, collateralizing credit obligations and financial statement analysis is required
Aptitude and interest for data analysis
Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master’s degree in Business preferred
1+ year of credit analysis experience required
Credit review, regulatory, or credit risk management experience preferred
Credit Risk Certification (CRC) designation preferred
