Accountant- AP - Tempe, AZ!

Vaco Phoenix is looking for an experienced Accountant with AP experience for a top client in Tempe, AZ. This role supports month-end and year-end financial close processes, leads project initiatives, and manages various accounts payable responsibilities. This is a direct hire role that can pay up to $85k per year depending on experience.

Job Duties Include :

• Support month-end and year-end close by ensuring invoices, payments, accruals, and journal entries are recorded accurately and on time.

Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation.

Research and analyze financial data to support close activities.

Create complex journal entries, including intercompany transactions.

Help prepare Excel reports for annual IRS 1099 filings and support internal and external audits.

Lead assigned projects from start to finish, staying organized and meeting deadlines.

Work closely with team members and other departments to complete tasks and resolve issues.

Assist accounting leaders and provide support on special projects as needed.

Review lease agreements, enter lease data, and process recurring payments on time.

Perform full accounts payable functions, including vendor setup, invoice processing, and weekly payments.

Review employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies.

Research and resolve vendor and payment issues quickly and accurately.

The ideal candidate for this position :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required

3-4 years' experience in a staff accountant role or 1-2 years as a Senior Accountant

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel - vlookups, pivot tables, Word, and Outlook)

Experience working with ERP systems

Ability to manage multiple tasks and take ownership of work product

Excellent written and oral communication skills
