Summary of Job Duties :

As part of the Academic Advising Transfer Team the Academic Advisor responsibilities include advising approximately 700-800 undergraduate business students which includes students who may be considering a transfer (new students) or transferring addition the Academic Advisor will teach three to four sections of Freshmen Business Connections (FBC) each fall semester; and assist in meeting with new and first-semester transfer students to ensure a smooth transition to the Walton College of Business.

Regular reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher education

At least one year of experience working in a student services position in a higher education environment

Preferred Qualifications :

Masters degree from an accredited institution of higher education

At least three years experience in a student focused higher education role

Knowledge Skills & Abilities :

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong analytical skills
