Base pay range : $85,000.00 / yr - $155,000.00 / yr
Location : Hybrid; Cleveland, OH area; or other listed locations in the U.S. as applicable.
Overview
Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at Cohen & Co are seeking an experienced tax professional to lead, innovate, and impact our Registered Investment Company (RIC) Tax team as a Manager . The role focuses on tax planning and compliance for RICs, guiding clients through complex transactions, and leading teams to deliver exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Calculate tax effects of transactions, conduct technical tax research, and manage tax partner expectations.
- Handle billing and WIP management.
- Review tax returns and manage tax workflow across multiple engagements.
- Conduct tax research and analyze a variety of RIC-related tax issues.
- Oversee overall client experiences, including deadline management and client expectations.
- Advise clients on consulting and compliance engagements related to RICs.
- Stay up to date on current tax laws, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to provide accurate, strategic advice.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and confidence in our services.
- Coordinate schedules and deadlines across multiple engagement teams.
- Coach staff, seniors, and managers while sharing expertise across the team.
- Foster a growth-oriented, inclusive culture and support development of young leaders.
- Lead efforts toward building a leveraged model when appropriate and deliver high-quality work products.
- Demonstrate initiative, forward thinking, and innovation in a fast-paced environment.
Who You Are
Bachelor's degree required.CPA or JD preferred.5+ years of progressive experience at a public accounting firm.Solid understanding of challenges related to RIC returns.Practical knowledge of tax credits and incentives.Experience advising clients on consulting and compliance engagements related to RICs.Experience conducting tax research and analyzing complex tax issues.Excellent leadership and organizational skills; ability to coach and develop team members.Ability to manage multiple priorities while leading internal and external stakeholders.Positive attitude and willingness to be a team player.Excellent time and project management skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate across engagement teams.Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe, etc.; strong understanding of CCH Axcess.Initiative to learn, ask questions, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while challenging the status quo.Location

Estimated Salary Range : $85,000 - $155,000. Salaries are determined based on candidate's skillset, experience, licensure, and certifications, as well as job responsibilities, geography, market considerations, and organizational needs. Our Total Rewards package includes additional benefits beyond base compensation.
