GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
The Veterans Home of Wyoming (VHW) is now offering an excellent opportunity for compassionate individuals to serve our Veterans and begin a career as a health care professional. This position is specifically intended for job advancement to a Certified Nurse Aide position at the new cottages on the VHW campus.
This position requires a caring and compassionate person to assist in the preparation and service of meals and snacks to people who live at the cottages. This position will also assist in keeping the living and sleeping areas clean as well as providing laundry services.
Within the first year of employment this person will commit to completing and passing both a Certified Nurse Aide class and the State certification exam for a Certified Nurse Aide. The VHW will pay for all CNA class and certification exam expenses. (Conditions apply. See NOTES below.)

Education & Experience Substitution :
1-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Human Services)
Certificates Licenses Registrations :
Must be able to obtain CNA Certification within 12 months of hire
OR
Education :
Associates Degree (typically in Healthcare)
Experience :
No prior experience required
Certificates Licenses Registrations :
Must be able to obtain CNA Certification within 12 months of hire
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS :
Lift medical / patient equipment of varying sizes and weights up to about 50 lbs.
Work evenings nights and / or weekends as scheduled.
Must be able to work with different types of food and spices (ie meat dairy cinnamon pepper)
