Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg position with 1 : 7 ratios and rotating weekends and holidays at a hospital setting.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical unit
  • Patient ratio is 1 : 7
  • Night shifts are 3x12 hours, 19 : 30 to 07 : 00
  • Rotating weekends and holidays are required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating to other units is required
  • General orientation begins on Sundays and includes online CBL modules
  • Training modules are completed during orientation and recorded via electronic transcripts
  • Team members are expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside patient care
  • 16 hours of nonbillable orientation are required
  • Candidates must not have prior engagements during the 12-14 day pre-start testing window and may need to visit the lab a second time if necessary

  • Active VA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • Must reside at least 100 miles from hospital service area (local candidates not accepted)
  • Drug test must be completed within 12-14 days prior to start date
  • Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC guidelines for fit testing
