Job Description
Aquila's full-time Human Performance Specialist assists in overseeing fitness center programs, assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health / fitness center. The location for this position is in McLean, VA, or alternatively in Bethesda, MD.
The pay range for this position is $70,000-$90,000 annually depending on experience, with a 40 hour work week, plus company benefits. Work shifts are usually 8 hours, usually 7 am - 3 pm or 8 am to 4 pm.

Responsibilities include :
Delivers both individual and group fitness instruction for membershipDevelops personalized, goal-oriented fitness programs and regimens, track member progress, and follows up to adjust programs as neededProviding instruction on all fitness equipment according to fitness industry benchmarksPromotes and supports all fitness and wellness initiatives for both locations for this clientPerforms all responsibilities while following safety procedures; modifies fitness regimens as needed to adjust to any fitness levelsMake recommendations and assist in the formulation of fitness center policies and plansPrepare reports if needed regarding the fitness center operationsSupervise exercise areasAid members - spotting and equipment usage & explain all equipmentEnsure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipmentAdhere to departmental and club policies and proceduresAdhere to client’s policies and proceduresAttend staff meetingsAssist in wellness and fitness promotions and external eventsPerform daily administrative dutiesQualifications :
Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion or closely related area OR five years of professional fitness work experienceActive NCCA accredited National Fitness Certification - (ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, NCSF, NCCPT or AFAA)Active CPR / AED certificationMust be able to obtain a Top Secret federal clearanceSkills required :
Strong organizational and managerial skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCustomer service orientedComputer knowledge : Microsoft Office Products & Network InternetModern principles and practices of organization, administration, budget, and managementActs with a sense of urgencyExcellent communication, organizational and management skillsDetail oriented, punctual and motivatingAll candidates must be able to complete a Top Secret federal clearance process.
