Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med / Surg Float Pool position with night shifts requiring at least one year of recent MS / SD experience and an active OK or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Position is in the Float Pool of a hospital settingPrimary work is with med / surg and stepdown patient populationsNight shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per weekRequires flexibility to rotate holidays and work every other weekendNo block scheduling is offeredPreceptor and charge nurse skills are preferredProvide nursing care to a variety of patients with conditions from simple to complexActively document patient responses and report changes in physician ordersAssist physicians with exams and minor diagnostic proceduresAdminister medications and manage IV infusions and blood products as prescribedInteract with patients and families to share care plans and facilitate discharge educationDelegate tasks appropriately to support staff membersMust participate in holiday rotation as assignedReturn applicants must complete a 6-month separation before reapplying if over 26 weeks of employmentRequirements
Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current compact RN licenseCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart AssociationMinimum of one year recent experience in a med / surg or stepdown settingAssociate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program requiredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferredICU experience is preferredKnowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and techniquesAbility to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing servicesStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patientsBasic computer skills requiredCandidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility address; no local candidates acceptedBenefits
