Responsibilities
- Under the general direction of the Service Supervisor, with little or no supervision, perform highly skilled work in repairing, reconditioning, testing, and adjusting equipment sold by Hawthorne.
- Remove, install, recondition, and repair engines and make necessary adjustments on engine components and other systems such as water pumps, fuel pumps, turbochargers, generators, compressors, coolers, carburetors, and cylinder heads.
- Perform diagnostic tests on engines for power issues, starting problems, misfiring, overheating, oil consumption, and charging system tests.
- Remove, install, and repair power train components including torque converters, transmissions, clutches, brakes, final drives, differentials, transfer cases, gear boxes, and undercarriages; perform diagnostic tests on power train components.
- Remove, install, recondition, repair, and adjust hydraulic controls and components such as cylinders, pumps, valves, and hydraulic attachments; perform diagnostic tests on hydraulic systems.
- Meet flat rate expectations as established by Caterpillar and industry standards.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.Valid driver's license with a good driving record.PC skills.Forklift certified or able to be certified within 60 days.Own hand tools suitable for the work described.At least 2 years of experience preferred.Physical Demands
