Job description

Nucleus Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Nucleus Healthcare is seeking a Traveling Registered Nurse -NICU for a 13-week contract assignment at a leading academic health system in Oklahoma City, OK.

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Shift : 3x12 - 36 Hours

Unit : NICU

Must have travel experience! Client will only interview candidates who reside 50 miles or more outside of Oklahoma City, OK.

Job Summary :

  • Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.

    • Essential Responsibilities :

  • Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position.
  • Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.
  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
  • Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician order on assigned patients.
  • Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
  • Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary.
  • Administers medication as prescribed.
  • Initiates, regulates and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Delivers patient care competently.
  • Interacts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge.
  • Informs patient and family of hospital procedures.
  • Makes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Delegates tasks to support staff.

    • Skills : | Required Skills & Experience :

  • 1 year of experience.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to organize, plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
  • Some computer skills.

    • Education : | Required Education :

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

    • Preferred Education :

  • BSN.

    • Required Certifications & Licensure :

  • Current Oklahoma nursing license, or current multistate compact RN license.
  • BLS (American Heart Assoc.)
  • NRP (American Heart Assoc.)

    • Preferred Certifications & Licensure :

  • N / A

    • Additional Qualifications

  • BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
  • ACLS Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY)
  • Minimum Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience (Preferred)
  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
  • Proficient in Impella, IABP, CRRT, Post open heart day 2 care, ECCMO

    • Nucleus Healthcare Job ID #3791. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
