Job description

Job Overview :

Under general direction, performs skilled plumbing work in the maintenance, repair, and installation of gas, water, sewer lift stations, water wells, and irrigation; and performs related duties as required.

Qualifications : Required :

  • 3 years experience as a plumber required
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid New Jersey Drivers License

Preferred :

  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • NJ plumbing license a plus.
  • Moving down in order of pertinence
  • Certifications and Licenses Required :

  • Valid New Jersey Drivers License

  • Essential Functions :

  • Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety and quality assurance standards.
  • Repairs valves, fixtures and fittings in all plumbing systems.4 / 30 / 24, 2 : 47 PM Saba
  • Cuts, bends, threads pipe, sweats, brazes & fits threaded pipe with adjoining pipe assemblies.
  • Replaces washers, faucets and other broken or non-functioning apparatus.
  • Repairs leaks, opens clogged or blocked drains, snakes or hydro-jets piping systems.
  • Installs, maintains and repairs sinks, showers, toilets, water heating and other piped or connected appliances.
  • Repairs and overhauls pumps; including sump pumps, hot and cold domestic water pumps and other related equipment.
  • Participates in educational programs and in service meetings.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Maintains departmental records, reports and files as required.
  • Functions as a Snow Emergency Team Member and responds to all fire alarm activations.
  • Assists as required for any and all emergency conditions including but not limited to elevator entrapments, floods, power outages, etc.
  • Ensure work area is clean, organized and free of any safety hazards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
