The Information Technology (IT) Specialist plays a critical role in supporting and maintaining the technology infrastructure that powers our distribution operations. This position ensures uninterrupted functionality of warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, inventory control technologies, and end-user devices across the distribution network. The IT Specialist provides day-to-day technical support, assists in implementing system upgrades, and contributes to the efficiency and reliability of all IT-related systems and services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Provide front-line technical support to distribution center staff, including troubleshooting hardware, software, barcode scanners, handheld devices, label printers, and network connectivity.
  • Support and maintain Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and their integration with ERP systems.
  • Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, servers, and mobile devices used in warehouse and office environments.
  • Monitor network and system performance across distribution facilities to ensure high availability and responsiveness.
  • Respond to system alerts and incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure technology supports operational workflows, inventory tracking, and shipping processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, system configurations, and support procedures.
  • Assist in IT projects including facility expansions, new system implementations, and hardware upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, cybersecurity standards, and best practices in a fast-paced, logistics-driven environment.
  • Liaise with software vendors and service providers for timely issue resolution and system improvements.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of IT support experience in a logistics, warehouse, or distribution environment is required.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), and related technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows, Office 365, network troubleshooting, and system administration. Meraki and Cisco networking is plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-moving distribution setting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Interact well with employees at all levels within the organization and be able to build and maintain positive working relationships
  • Willingness and ability to be flexible and adapt to changing job requirements
  • PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS (NOT REQUIRED)

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
  • Microsoft Certified : Modern Desktop Administrator or Azure Fundamentals
  • Experience with Zebra or Honeywell scanning technology

  • TRAVEL :

    Up to 25% travel required to GF work sites for support.
