Float Pool Pod A ICU RN
Location : Mission Viejo, CA
Unit Overview
Unit Type : Float Pool – ICU (CICU + SICU coverage)Beds : 47 total (27 CICU + 16 SICU + other coverage as needed)Staffing Ratio : 1 : 2 (Days, Nights, Weekends)Shift Details : 12 hr (07 : 00–19 : 30 / 19 : 00–07 : 30)Schedule : Must cover weekends – minimum 6 per contract, may exceed EOWFloat Required : Yes, within scope to other units (including lower acuity)Call Required : YesCharting System : Epic; communication via SBARScrubs : Provided – Royal BlueRequired
Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI / MABExperience : Minimum 1 year recent ICU experience (CICU, SICU, Neuro, MICU, Trauma ICU, CVICU, etc.)Skills :Cardiac : post-cardiac surgery, IABP, Impella, LVAD / RVAD, TAVR, CABG, Swan-Ganz, CVP, dysrhythmia interpretation & management
Neuro : CVA / stroke, EVD, ICP monitoring, post- craniotomy / neurosurgery, TBI, spinal cord injuryRenal : CRRT / CVVHD, renal failure managementRespiratory : ventilator management, chest tubes, ABG interpretation, BiPAP / CPAP, HFNC, trach care, pulmonary embolism / failureCritical drips : vasoactive, cardiac, sedation, paralytics, insulin protocolsEmergency : rapid response / code team experienceLines : central / PICC / arterial line care, port access, blood product administrationPreferred
