The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative III - Floater serves as the primary point of contact for patients , performing high-quality specimen collection while ensuring an exceptional patient experience. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently across multiple locations. The position supports patient care, promotes trust, and upholds strict standards of accuracy, safety, and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform high-quality blood draws and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established practices and procedures.Create a calm, confident, and professional environment for patients by clearly explaining procedures and demonstrating skillful and safe collection techniques.Demonstrate Leadership Behaviors while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and process excellence.Perform daily tasks accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.Provide both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing with confidence.Verify patient demographics and confirm proper labeling in the patient's presence, including signature verification post-venipuncture.Maintain required documentation, logs, and records.Promote a positive and professional image to patients, clients, colleagues, and the public.Perform in a fast-paced environment while maintaining error-free, high-quality work.Follow all Policies & Procedures, including dress code, Health & Safety, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.Utilize sound judgment and decision-making based on established procedures.Travel to multiple Patient Service Centers and In-Office Phlebotomy locations, often with minimal notice.Manage multiple priorities effectively in a high-volume setting.Communicate openly and transparently with team members, supervisors, and patients.Adapt to change quickly while maintaining strong business knowledge.Attend required training; locations may vary based on trainer availability.Required Experience :
Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.High school diploma or equivalent.Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).Ability to demonstrate excellent customer focus and professional communication.Nice-to-Have Experience :
Medical assistant or paramedic training.Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, WA; preferred elsewhere).Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment.Experience in a retail or service-oriented customer environment.Data entry and keyboarding experience.Required Skills :
