Tax Senior Associate

Position Summary

Focus Financial Partners is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Senior Associate to join our growing tax team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with 2-3 years of experience who is eager to expand their expertise in corporate and partnership taxation within a dynamic, collaborative financial services environment. In this role, you'll work closely with internal finance teams and external advisors to support all aspects of federal, state, and local tax compliance. You'll take an active role in preparing and reviewing tax filings, supporting income tax provision work, and assisting with research, audits, and special projects. This position offers hands-on experience, exposure to complex entities, and opportunities for professional growth within a high-performing tax function.

This role can be located in New York, NY or New Hyde Park, NY.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Coordinate and review the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations and partnerships in collaboration with external preparers.
• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual income tax provisions (ASC 740) and related financial statement disclosures.
• Partner with subsidiary firms to gather data, address tax-related inquiries, and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Conduct tax research and analysis to maintain compliance with current tax laws and identify opportunities for process and efficiency improvements.
• Support tax audits and examinations by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries from tax authorities.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate relevant updates to team members and stakeholders.
• Maintain organized and compliant tax documentation, ensuring alignment with internal controls and regulatory standards.

Qualifications :

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $100,000-$115,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
