Job Description
- This position will be located in Phoenix, AZ (Deer Valley) within the Control Systems Center of Excellence (CS CoE). The CS CoE develops state-of-the-art avionics for air transport, regional, and business aircraft.
- The desired candidate will contribute to a team of systems engineers responsible for the overall systems engineering activities related to requirements development, requirements management, and HW / SW integration of a displays system.
Responsibilities include :
Understanding customer requirementsAnalysis and Design of system requirementsDeveloping and maintaining the system software requirementsSupporting the software development teamSupporting the software verification teamCoordination and resolution of design and implementation issues with software / hardware requirementsCoordination and resolution of design and implementation issues with Flight Controls System InterfacesHardware / software and checkout of the systemDevelopment and Integration of System BenchesInvestigation and resolution of Hardware / software Integration issuesInvestigation and review of customer issues and desired enhancementsThe individual will perform these activities in the very near term for Gulfstream program.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to interface with the customer, certification agencies, third party suppliers, global resources, and with peers such as hardware and software engineers.Basic Qualifications Required :
Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Aerospace or Systems Engineering.Minimum of 6 years of experience related to displays systems development / analysis or other avionics productsMust be a US Citizen or permanent resident due to export control requirementsAdditional Qualifications Desired :
Advanced degree in Aerospace, or Systems Engineering preferred.System Integration and test experience with displays systemsExperience working with and the administration of Requirement Management tools (DOORs)Experience working in a technical position that interfaces with customers as well as internal and external suppliers desiredExperience with avionics and displays certification requirements a plusProven ability to define, investigate and solve complex technical problems within schedule, budget and resource constraintsExperience with developing System Level requirements, as well as software / hardware requirements a plusExperience with verification and validation of System requirements preferredSystems engineering experience within a displays systemExperience debugging / testing avionics systems via simulation & hardware-in-loop lab environments desiredTechnical background / proficiency in avionics, particularly displays systemsIntegration and test experience in lab or flight test environmentsExperience using Configuration Management and Change Control systems such as ClearCase / ClearQuestExperience using the requirements management tool DOORs preferred.
