About The Role
This role will provide strategy, leadership and oversight into the planning, execution, and delivery of SIR program operations, and ensuring alignment with the organizations' strategic objectives. Provide proactive and strategic leadership for the Environmental Site Investigation and Remediation function, offering direction, expertise, and support to ensure project and work site deliverables are successfully achieved. Actively ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local environmental laws, policies, and regulatory requirements. Develop, represent and defend the Company's position on all matters related to SIR in rate case proceedings and other regulatory initiatives and processes.
The Site Investigation and Remediation (SIR) Program Director will be responsible for the oversight and management of all personnel engaged in environmental investigation and remediation projects in the New York region. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding and experience with strategic planning, the environmental investigation and remediation industry, managerial budgeting, goal setting, tracking and reporting, and the ability to communicate effectively with Internal and External stakeholders.

About You
Bachelor's degree in business administration, environmental sciences / Engineering. Master's or Law degree preferred. Minimum of 20 years of experience in leading an environmental remediation function estimating environmental remediation or construction projects, with at least 10 years in a leadership role. Experience managing technical, safety and financial aspects of SIR projects. Exposure to legal and public aspects. Independent regulatory interaction. Experience in rate case process, portfolio risk / prioritization / mitigation. Demonstrable experience in external engagement in a hyper political environment. Project Management Professional (PMP) / program Management Professional (PgMP) certification and / or an MBA is preferred. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and environmental remediation standards is a must. Successful candidate may be required to register as a lobbyist under NYS law. Ability to anticipate internal and / or external business challenges and / or regulatory issues. Problem solving, and recommending process, product or service improvements. Able to solve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. Lead the development of functional strategy.
