The CPS Electrical Scheduled Work Lead serves as the front-line supervisor and working leader for daily plant operations and maintenance activities within the Central Power System (CPS). This pivotal role is responsible for the direct execution of scheduled electrical work, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency, while providing hands-on technical support to the team. This position reports directly to the CPS Electrical Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
I. Leadership and Personnel Management
- Direct Supervision : Serve as first-in-line supervision, confirming personnel are present, assigned, and effectively executing their daily tasks and work orders.
- Resource Management : Assure that all necessary resources, parts, and supplies are available and adequate to complete scheduled electrical work efficiently.
- Process Improvement : Proactively identify and prioritize multiple projects and tasks, consistently performing work with a constant awareness of improving processes and operational efficiency.
- Compliance & Representation : Support and enforce all company policies, goals, and objectives. Represent the company in all facets in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
II. Technical Execution and Compliance
Hands-on Work : Function as a working lead , actively participating in and performing field work alongside the team.Safety & Isolation : Directly assist CPS personnel and others with the isolation and tag-out of systems (Lockout / Tagout - LOTO) as needed, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.Code Compliance : Apply in-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) to all work performed, ensuring installations and repairs meet all regulatory standards.III. Documentation and Technical Support
Drawing Interpretation : Proficiently read, review, and interpret engineering drawings against actual field conditions.As-Built Documentation : Execute and document drawing corrections via redlines / as-built changes to maintain accurate facility records.Administrative & CMMS : Perform necessary administrative duties, including detailed log-keeping and managing work orders within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) .Stakeholder Support : Assist NASA System Managers and other stakeholders by providing critical system information and support for various projects.Procurement : Order essential parts and supplies required for all scheduled electrical work.Required Qualifications
Proven experience in a supervisory or lead capacity within an industrial or facility operations setting.Expert-level, practical knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) .Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting and modifying technical documents, including P&IDs, electrical schematics, and single-line drawings .Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple, competing projects in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for leading a team and engaging with various stakeholders (NASA System Managers, Coordinators, etc.).Working knowledge of CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo, SAP, etc.) for work order and asset management.Company Description
