Job Summary
Corporate Hiring Solutions Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse – Wound Care Specialist to join the healthcare team at Kings County Hospital. The selected RN will provide expert-level wound, ostomy, and continence care, ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes and supporting hospital-wide wound care initiatives.
This role requires a compassionate professional with strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities / Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments focused on wound, ostomy, and continence care.
- Develop individualized care plans and implement evidence-based treatment protocols.
- Evaluate patient responses to wound care interventions and revise treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other care providers to ensure coordinated care.
- Educate patients and families on wound prevention, care techniques, and long-term management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, incidence and prevalence studies, and hospital-wide nursing quality projects.
- Provide orientation, in-service training, and continuing education programs for clinical staff.
- Manage and recommend wound care supplies, technologies, and specialty equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation, data confidentiality, and compliance with all patient rights and hospital policies.
Qualifications
Education : Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN / ADN) from an accredited program (BSN preferred).Experience : Minimum of 2 years of Med / Surg nursing experience with strong wound and colostomy care expertise.Licensure : Active New York State RN License in good standing.Certifications (Required) :American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)One of the following wound care certifications :CWOCN, CWON, CWCN (WOCNCB)CWS (American Board of Wound Management)WCC (National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy)Requirements
Must hold a valid New York State Department of Health – Temporary Health Care Services Registration (mandatory, non-negotiable).Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient communication skills.Ability to educate, mentor, and promote best practices in wound management.Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and professional ethics.How to Apply
