Position Description :

Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin are seeking a Cardiac Surgeon within the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Department of Surgery. The ideal candidate would perform all aspects of cardiac surgery with a specific interest and ability in cardiac transplantation, has an area of clinical and / or research interest, and who will be passionate about contributing to our expanding Cardiac Surgery Program. The Division is seeking a candidate who demonstrates excellent clinical skills and a collaborative work style. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

About the Division :

Join our clinically outstanding practice consisting of 13 cardiothoracic surgeons, 20 advanced practice providers, and 14 perfusionists that provide world-class care for patients from all over Wisconsin and beyond. Our program is recognized for nationally ranked outcomes and is the highest-volume cardiac transplantation program in the state. We provide highly individualized care to patients through a multidisciplinary team, which includes cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, pathologists, pharmacists, transplant coordinators, nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, cardiac rehabilitation specialists, registered dietitians, social workers, financial counselors, and psychologists.

As an academic medical center involved in groundbreaking research, we offer deep clinical expertise and have specialists skilled at managing even the most complex cases. Our program is known for its expertise in ventricular assist device (VAD) therapy and was awarded the Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission. The Department of Surgery is comprised of 11 divisions, including 9 clinical divisions, a Division of Education, and a Division of Research. Under the leadership of the Chair of Surgery, Douglas B.
