Job Summary

Provide personal care, comfort, and unit support to hospice inpatients under the direction of a nurse; assist families and help maintain a clean, safe, calm setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide activities of daily living (bathing, hygiene); perform safe transfers, ambulation, positioning, and range of motion; deliver basic comfort care.
• Take and record vital signs; observe and promptly report patient and family needs to the nurse and the interdisciplinary team.
• Assist with meals and feeding techniques; support light housekeeping tasks to keep rooms safe and orderly.
• Prepare supplies and equipment; use the Hoyer lift safely; complete end-of-shift duties (intake and output, cleaning, trash removal, laundry, and shift report).
• Document care and services per policy; reinforce caregiver guidance and universal precautions.
