Job Summary :
Supervises daily clinical operations of the facility and manages the clinical and clerical staff in accordance with established Federal, State and accreditation regulations and guidelines, as well as established Heaton Laser and Surgery Center / HEA policies and procedures. Oversees patient care activities in preoperative, postoperative and intraoperative. Purchasing of required supplies, controlled drugs, and equipment. Responsible for staff development, orientation and staff discipline and appraisals.

Certifications / Licensures :
Current Texas RN License, ACLS and BLS required
Experience :
Prefer five years of ASC leadership perioperative nursing experience
Prefer CASC certification
Experience in management or leadership in perioperative environment is also a benefit
Education :
Graduate of an accredited college or university school of nursing with Master’s in nursing degree
Primary Job Duties :
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to team members
- Ensure care is provided to patients professionally and safely
- Promote communication with physicians
- Provide safe environment for all, while adhering to compliance measures
- Manage orientation of new team members
- Work with ASC Coordinator to assure compliance education, drills, and training
- Direct participation in quality assurance program
- Accreditation readiness
- Peer Review management
- Oversee and conducts ASC site departmental meetings
- Monitors Daily Duties of ASC team
- Communicates with emotional diplomacy & control, engagement of multi-disciplinary approach
- Actively assists in patient care activities
- Primary perioperative skills are maintained

Serves as an assistant point of contact for the clinical operations of the ASC in coordination with administrative leadership.Serves in the capacity of any role in the ASC setting.Leads the clinical team in their roles and functions, evaluations, peer reviews, and work assignments.Collaborates with members of the surgical and multidisciplinary teams in assisting, planning and implementing surgical intervention in the management of patient’s health care preoperatively, operatively, and post-operativeMaintains professional knowledge and proficiency in perioperative nursing care, quality assurance and performance improvement through continuing education. Assumes responsibility of mandatory training requirements. Assist in leading staff meetingsManages the orientation and preceptorship of new team membersOversee accreditation compliance, QAPI, Peer ReviewPerforms other duties as assignedClinical Performance :
Participates in patient care activities adhering to the requirements of the Operating Room RN and / or Preop / PACU RN job descriptions when providing direct patient care.Establishes implements and evaluates quality and standards of patient care in conjunction with medical staff and clinical staff.Develops patient care protocols, preoperative and postoperative assessment procedures, nursing policies and procedures, physician standing orders and standard discharge instructions.Evaluates nursing staff documentation and patient care through review of medical records.Management of Resources / Inventory :
Schedules qualified staff to provide required coverage for patient care adhering to applicable guidelinesEstablishes and oversees a system to ensure adequate supplies of controlled drugs, supplies, instrumentation and equipment are available to meet patient needs 100% of the time, within budgetary constraintsCoordinates appropriate use of human and material resources, being mindful of budgetary constraintsProvides adequate staffing coverage 100% of the timeAccurately verifies time worked through regular review of time and attendance recordsAssures worked FTE ratio is within approved budget or appropriate justification is providedCancel staff appropriately according to established protocol when census is low to remain within budgetary limitsSupply inventory is maintained within approved budgetOversees / coordinates obtaining and returning of borrowed / rented equipment and supplies in the most cost effective and timely mannerEnsures non-expired sterile packs and supplies are available 100% of the time for scheduled casesEnsures no missing or unaccounted for controlled substances 100% of the time and controlled substances are accounted for in accordance with procedures established in conjunction with the pharmacy consultantIdentifies the need for and appropriately confers with the administrative staff on resource management issuesManagement of Facility / Staff :
